One Two Cha Cha Chaa Movie Review: Should You Watch It ?

Okay, so imagine a movie comes out that features no big artists. I mean, no superstars whose photos people put up in their rooms or stickers on their cars. There is no action-packed mass masala or glamour to give it any buzz. I watched one such movie recently named 'One Two Cha Cha Chaa'.

Since four or five movies came out on the same day, hardly anyone paid attention to this one. The reason was simply that there were no big actors attached to it. But does the film's content have enough strength to succeed purely on word of mouth? I have watched the movie, so let’s talk about it quickly.

A Surprise Discovery

Honestly, I was a little skeptical about this movie myself. Although the teaser and trailer gave off a comedy vibe, it was my fourth movie that Friday, and I was exhausted. But when I checked public reviews online, I was stunned. You can see for yourself that everyone was praising the film and giving it a 10 out of 10. So, despite being tired, I went to the theater out of sheer curiosity to watch the 9 PM show. After watching the entire film, I realized something quite special. I realized that it has been a long time since I saw a movie that you can sit down and watch comfortably with your entire family.

I know, I know, there are some flaws in the movie. Considering the low budget, the actors are either very new or are veterans who you rarely see in commercial movies these days. But today, after watching this movie, I realized that there is no shortage of good actors in our industry. They just need the right project and the right direction, and their lives can be just as successful as any superstar's.

The Story and The Chaos

The story is about a 'ChaCha' (Uncle) played by Ashutosh Rana. You will see him giving a performance that is completely different from his regular roles. He has a specific problem which wasn't revealed in the trailer, so I won't spoil it either. Along with that, he also wants to get married. His family members lie to him about a marriage proposal to take him along in a car to get his problem fixed. But the car journey has its own twist. That twist gets entangled with another twist involving a big goon. All of this is mixed together to create absolute chaos.

You will see the same kind of writing here that you find in Priyadarshan movies. People automatically get stuck in incidents, and by the climax, everyone is running around. There is a unique comedy running through it all, involving every character in some way. The fun part is that there is no single person who is the hero or the villain. Here, all the actors have been given equal screen time so that the comedy and performances shine even more. And speaking of performances, the actors in this movie are excellent.

A Stellar Ensemble Cast

You have already seen these actors in great projects. We have Ashutosh Rana, of course. Then there is Harsh from 'Gullak', and Vinod from 'Panchayat', also known as Ashok Pathak. We have Anant Joshi from '12th Fail', and Lalit Prabhakar, whose Marathi zombie movie was a big hit. In supporting roles, we have Mukesh Tiwari and Abhimanyu Singh. Everyone is better than the next, and honestly, they have all done a wonderful job.

Technical Aspects and Verdict

If the movie had a stronger budget, perhaps the screenplay, camera work, VFX, and cinematography would have been better. Currently, it might look to you like a high-budget YouTube video or a TV serial. Yes, the first half might feel a bit slow, and the climax part feels a little exaggerated. But as I said, content is king. There is some bad language, but it is presented in such a way that you will laugh even if you are watching with family. If this film were a tight two hours and fifteen minutes instead of two hours and forty minutes, the faster pace would have definitely added extra fun.

Still, considering everything overall, I give this film 3 out of 5 stars from my side. Giving this movie a chance is definitely worth it. The rest is up to you. I will catch you in the next one. Bye!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is "One Two Cha Cha Chaa" a family-friendly movie?

Yes, absolutely. After watching it, I felt that it has been a very long time since a movie came out that you can comfortably sit and watch with your entire family. While there is some language involved, it is presented in such a humorous way that you will end up laughing rather than feeling awkward in front of your parents or children.

Who are the main actors in the film?

The movie features a fantastic ensemble cast of talented actors rather than big superstars. The lead is Ashutosh Rana. Joining him are Harsh Mayar (from Gullak), Ashok Pathak (Vinod from Panchayat), Anant Joshi (from 12th Fail), and Lalit Prabhakar. You will also see seasoned actors like Mukesh Tiwari and Abhimanyu Singh in supporting roles, all delivering excellent performances.

What is the final star rating for the movie?

I have given this film 3 out of 5 stars. Although it has a low budget and feels a bit like a TV serial in terms of production quality, the content and comedy make it worth it. It is a film that deserves a chance purely for its writing and the honest effort put in by the actors.

Is the movie too long or slow?

The movie is about 2 hours and 40 minutes long. I personally felt that if it had been edited down to a tight two hours and fifteen minutes, it would have been much more impactful. The first half might feel a little slow to start, but once the chaos begins, it becomes a fun ride similar to Priyadarshan’s comedies.
